And one can only handle so much discussion about mother-daughter prostitute teams, evangelical bewilderment, Frankenstein mountain ram breeds, and viciously ferocious Aldi cashiers…
So I thought I'd make a thread of the 2023 initial 53 man roster (with Chris Jones and Charles Omenihu added) vs a 2024 projected 53 man roster (with other potential rostered and practice squad players listed underneath) to encourage some Chiefs-related chatter and comparison/growth/etc of the team and pointing out some potential position battles and such.
That and honestly, I find it a bit easier to compare when all the information of the changes is in one place.
I placed Spoilers on each Position Group so this first post doesn't go to an even more absurd length, and I'll try to edit this every so often when new signings and such occur.

A lot of position groups upgraded IMO. One notably feels a bit weaker (Defensive Backs) but there's still talent all over that room. [Reply]

Looking forward to Nazeeh and Chamarri big-time this year!
Yeah, I was pondering whether I should call Conner a safety or not because it seems like he played all over. I think at the core he's a safety, but labels don't seem to matter much in our defense, and I love that. [Reply]
I noticed that you added some of our rookies in the top area, but others, such as Wiley, you put in the rostered/ competing area. I would think that Wiley would be assured a spot and should be in the top section. I guess that you were thinking that he would compete with Irv Smith for a spot? [Reply]
Big improvement at QB potentially as Gabbert was completely trash.
DBs lack a bit of proven top end talent with Sneed gone but there is a lot of talent and versatility across the secondary that could be even better overall than last year if it clicks.
The interior D line still looks very thin outside of Chris Jones and is arguably the biggest weakness. [Reply]

Well I've thought that at times.
But if that is a serious plan, wouldn't you want to commit to it in the off season and let him practice it?
If he is only spending limited time at LT, then that would really be a worst case scenario? Like the periodic talk [in the past] of moving Thuney to LT scenario, right? [Reply]

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Nazeeh getting a bunch of reps with the 1’s in training camp just before he got hurt? [Reply]

That's what people were saying, but we still haven't seen him in game with them (to my knowledge) so we HOPE he's that guy, but none of us have seen much of it yet [Reply]

I threw everything into an excel chart that wouldn't transfer over, so I had to write it all out again and must have missed it in the crossover. Wiley will have the TE3 job (and maybe the TE2 job before the season's end if he's as good as I hope) . Meant for there to be maybe 1 open competition spot. Fixed, thanks for pointing it out. [Reply]
This will be our best overall talented team in the Mahomes era. Doesn’t mean we got the 3peat in the bag. Lots of chance involved. But, I’ll take the most talent ever and roll with that Mahomes/Kelce/Jones led team. [Reply]
