Would the rhino really gore a bear? I think the horn is more of a vestigal thing to ward off extinct stuff. The rhino just has to get the bear off its feet for long enough to stomp on it. You get stomped on by a rhino and you're not getting up. [Reply]

They use their horns in battle. Lots of video of that sort of thing. [Reply]

Interesting. I guess their heads are kind of low to the ground, so maybe that helps. Their horns are so big that I would've thought they weren't overly useful against any creature that wasn't as big as them, which is obviously going to be rare. But I guess a low-slung head makes the horn more useful. [Reply]

I can’t imagine the fear humans had for these beasts prior to the invention of guns. I was reading recently that the original word for bear in some language, I can’t remember but I think it was Hungarian, has been lost to time because the people were too afraid to say it, fearing it would summon the bear lol
Yes but have you seen the show Counting Cars ? They have a Hungarian guy on there and he’s kind of a dumbass. [Reply]
I hate to be picky about such things but Mosquitos doesn't belong on this list. Nor do Freshwater snails or Assassin bugs or Tsetse flies or Roundworms or Tapeworms. None of these are Animals. [Reply]

You know I’m not exactly Mike Tyson myself. But even I could kick a snail’s ass. [Reply]
