They play a lot of zone in Pittsburgh. Fire zones, zone blitzes, etc. The type of stuff Peters excels at, because you keep stuff in front of you and read/react to the QB instead of having to man up and read/react to a WR.
It's a different skillset. Larry Brown excelled at playing zone in Dallas on those Super Bowl teams...he SUCKED at man coverage in Oakland.
Steven Nelson is a Marcus Peters/Larry Brown type. One dimensional. He just doesn't want to admit that (and probably doesn't have the vocabulary to articulate that), so it comes out "it was the coaches you fans wouldn't underatand".
But we DO understand, Stevie. Your man coverage skills were lacking. Bob Sutton's defenses were great...before you became an every down player in the nickel. Then teams threw right at you. We get it. We understand just fine. [Reply]
Western New York native (Jamestown co 2014) Stephen Carlson has been a nice addition for the #Browns at TE. Here is with with a nice stiff arm as the Brownies are driving on the opening drive. pic.twitter.com/SoqUKsiHf7
