Injury Update: I’m getting surgery today. I was hoping to recover enough to get back for playoffs/Super Bowl but that didn’t happen. It’s time to address the issue. The recovery process isn’t too long, which is nice. Looking forward to a healthy 2021! #Chiefs#ChiefsKingdompic.twitter.com/etGfSoCCd6
I know back injuries are tricky, but after multiple of months of not even being able to practice (for a guy who previously barely even missed a snap), the Chiefs should have shut Schwartz down and started the surgery/recovery process earlier.
We don’t know the details. Maybe he had great days and was showing progress. They could have thought it would eventually heal on its own. I tore my meniscus and the doctor put me into rehab BEFORE surgery because they thought it could heal on its own. Like I said, we don’t know details. [Reply]
Guys, if there was a chance he could come back, it must not be a terrible back issue. I'm guessing he's having a micro discectomy or something fairly routine with a 7-8 week heal time. This should be good news! [Reply]

We do know he wasn't even able to participate in a light practice/limited practice since early October. [Reply]
I am disappointed that his health failed him and we needed and need him like everyone else here but all of us fans need to let this man worry about his health and what is best for him. That is far more important than this game.
