Wife got Pfizer...nothing after first shot; nausea, mild fever, and lethargy after the second.....but it wasn't anything that she couldn't go to work through. [Reply]

Terrible idea. Never half ass a medicine dose and expect proper results. They set up the dose like this for a reason. [Reply]
My 71 year old parents (both have pre-existing conditions that would make them high risk) got it 4 days ago. Get their second does in a couple weeks. No side effects as of yet. [Reply]

Moderna shows 80% efficacy after 1 dose. I think Pfizer is closer to 50% [Reply]
I received my first shot of the Moderna vaccine on January 2, by a very skilled RN at the medical center where I work. I had no pain at all for a few hours after the injection. Then, I had very slight pain (maybe a 0.5 or 1 on a 0 to 10 scale) that wasn't bothersome and that cleared up the next day, after I took some Excedrin Migraine medicine (combination of aspirin, acetaminophen, and caffeine). I haven't had any side effects since, and I'm looking forward to being about 50% protected now, 10 days later, when I stop by Costco later today. I figure the protection will offset the big rise in infections we've been dealing with these past few weeks where I live in Northern California.
For the Moderna vaccine, it's 28 days until the second shot, and I already have that scheduled. Estimated protection rises to about 95% a few days after that second shot, which also will help with longer-term immunity. [Reply]
Got my second Pfizer shot on Saturday. No side effects after first shot. Diffuse muscle and joint aches and chills the day after my second shot. Felt fine the next day. Would do it five more times in a heart beat if I had to in order kick this virus’s ass. [Reply]
