I know there are enough of us to participate in this thread, even when our seasons inevitably go to shit.
KSU vs Western Illinois today, tip-off at 3:00 pm.
One thing I noticed near the end of the game on Friday night - we had 5 true freshman on the court, and still played sound basketball. None of them were scrub walk-ons either. While I don't think we will make a serious run at anything this year, the foundation is being laid for a solid program in the future. [Reply]

Not sure I buy it, but whatever.
Yeah, I'm not so sure either, but I do consider the weight of Chi-Town since his info is pretty solid.
I suppose we'll know eventually when August comes around in the UCLA game. Of course, I could also ask 2 guys that I know, that are on the team as well. Posted via Mobile Device [Reply]
We'll see how Nino adapts to college ball, but he's obviously more skilled on the offensive end than Sutton. I'm glad he'll be here to get his feet wet for a year, before we lose the seniors from this year's team. [Reply]
Jamar can't (maybe better said, won't) put on any weight.
Apparently, JamSam just refuses to eat what the coaches are telling him he needs to eat in order to put on weight. He's hovering around 205-210 right now. At 6'7"+, that ain't gonna get it done. They plan to play him as a hybrid 3/4. His handles haven't improved enough to have him solely as a 3. So, when he's playing the 3, it will be with a smaller lineup, and better ball-handlers on the court with him. Thus, he'll still need to be able to bang inside when he's on the court. They want him at 220-225. He played most of last season at ~210.
Needless to say, the coaches are getting frustrated with him. Something to keep an eye on............
Note on Omari:
Coach Martin REALLY likes this kid. There is a feeling that he was mis-used at St. Johns much like CK was at UCONN (admittedly, much of that was on CK). At 6'4", he's a very physical defender, and can play/slash in the paint. They want to trim him down a bit. He's probably tipping 220 right now, and they want him in the 210 range. Not sure how he'll be used this year, but he may be the best walk-on ever at KSU (hyperbole noted).
