Fortunately I'm old enough that everyone in my neighborhood just smoked weed from like 3rd grade on - and meth hadn't made it to Methdependence yet. I lived two houses down from the guy who made that giant metal Indian which was kinda famous.
We also had tons of dobermans that terrorized the neighborhood, one family who appeared to eat nothing but candy and didn't believe in brushing their teeth, and a sewage creek that me and my buddy spent a ton of time exploring.
