The first games of the Alliance of American Football (AAF) are this weekend. I haven't followed it and at this point I'm not that interested. However, a friend called me all excited. He said CBS will be carrying all the games... that seems interesting. I seen an NFL Network logo on the AAF website... that seems interesting.
What's your take? Is your DVR set? Why should I care?

My fan theory is the money behind the AAF has an inkling the 'amateur athlete' dog in the NCAA ain't gonna hunt no more and they're going to position themselves as a destination for the occasional one-and-done capable recruits and top JUCO guys to play a year and gain draft eligibility. [Reply]

Alliance tried to get into St. Louis this year but couldn't get the dates for games in the Dome. Dome had already been booked for conventions and boat shows etc.
