Berry on the field gave us a taste of what happens when a true leader and coach are running things. [Reply]

What really dumbfounded me last night is how Sutton just refused to pressure Rivers in the second half, seemingly. But especially on that final drive, he kept the same four man pressure package going the whole way down the field with some variation of the same zone Rivers was torching the entire second half. I was screaming for him to blitz, change up the look, anything. It was painful, especially considering how we applied all kinds of pressure in the first half with Berry in the game. Put Berry back in for the final drive, ffs.
And if you can't get guys in proper position for that two point play, that is completely on the coaching staff. How does that happen? It was unbelievable. [Reply]
Though I totally agree that Sutton needs to go, do you think our defensive woes run deeper? I am not talking just talent, I am talking positional coaches. If guys are routinely struggling lining up correctly, blowing coverages, missing assignments, at all levels, where is the coaching?! Not only does Sutton need to go, but the entire defensive staff IMO. [Reply]
Both Reid and Sutton become more conservative as the game wears on. I know it's important to run the clock but I also knew that Reid's inability to step on the neck of his opponent would cost us...and it will in the playoffs as well...it'll just be all that much more heartbreaking because we've got amazing talent on offense. I'd be thrilled if someone taught those guys how to tackle...our secondary tackles people like they're laying their kids down for a nap. [Reply]
