Let's say you have him out there with Okafor, Jones, Saunders and Clark on the line and you send him after the passer - you have Jones/Saunders with their power/athleticism in the middle and Clark/Okafor also being very good athletes on the outside. The things you can do with a guy like Attaochu, who has genuine pass-rush skills but is now in a really flexible stand-up spot as the Sam, are really intriguing.
Daley likes those stunts and he could do some awfully creative shit with that personnel group. [Reply]

Presumably under the regular season practice presumptions that the 1s don't face the 1s that often so our first unit will have been going against the 2s (and Henne).
That's not really accurate in camp though - the first defense goes up against the first offense quite a bit. [Reply]

Thing is, they need some singings like that to work out and produce. Especially with what the cap is about to be, they need some guys like him and Wilson to pan out to be nice solid role players at least, and real contributors at best.
With the coaching staff they have now I think we'll see more of it. They've poured some resources into that side and not just fluff. I'm excited to see the Lb'ers under House. [Reply]

I think the 'iron sharpens iron' thing is overstated. It sounds great and makes sense in theory, but when you start to poke about, there's not a lot of real world support for it.
Otherwise the Patriots would get fisted in the playoffs after the annual cake-walk that is their division.
Yeah, it doesn’t work this way at all.
I played basketball against some guys that were proportionately better than me, and all that really happened is I pulled back some aggressive stuff and played to not get fucking destroyed instead of going after guys. Then I’d go play with other guys and would have to reset my approach. It really wasn’t beneficial to consistently get my ass beat by dudes that were better. [Reply]
