Nzoner's Game Room>****2017 NFL Draft Thread**** (NO Spoilers)
Dante84 11:29 PM 04-26-2017
Let's fucking do this.

Rules:
1. No spoiled picks in this thread, all weekend. This means that as tweets are leaking picks a few minutes before the selection is announced live, you don't post it in this thread (ex: embedded tweets), reference it in this thread (ex: Joe Slapdick says it's McCaffrey to Tampa) or hint at it (ex: "it's a RB!").

Don't be a dick.

Otherwise, have fun, talk shit, freak out and lose your goddamned minds. It's Draft Weekend. The hot takes in these threads are so funny.

I'll also be starting threads for each of our picks as they are made, with videos and notable stats/takes in the OP. Pure knee jerk gold to reference in the future.

It's been a trying few months. I lost my grandmother at the beginning of March (she was awesome) and almost lost my 13.5 year old Lab (Vestibular disease, pancreatits, deep ear infection). I've had no interest in social media but I'm starting to come back around.
Damn, that's a tough stretch. Stay up. Hug the little ones hard and hug momma soft.
And it'll be football season before you know it.

The biggest problem with the running game has been the quarterback. When the entire defense can play within 10 yards of the LoS, and you still refuse to attack beyond the intermediate zones, it makes it really hard to do anything in the run game. Make them think there's any risk that you'll go downfield, and holes will begin to open. There's just been no reason whatsoever to respect the deep passing game. Once they stop the short passing game, they've also stopped the running game.

Says its a bitter former UF coach who hated Brantley.
I have no idea, but it was enough to sink him 5 rounds even with a lot of people backing up his knock a broad out side of the story.

From Peter King, who spent the draft in the 49ers draft room...

Said Shanahan: “The only other guy that I can think of that they would really need would be Leonard Fournette. Would that be possibly worth that?”

“Don’t think so,” Lynch said. “That doesn't fit Andy's style, I don't think, a big back.”

Watching the NFLN today featuring the orangutan show, the sideline wedding on the balcony, the Giants ridiculous draft picks, etcetera, has made me prissy. :-)
No one with any sense pronouces it anything but Zyeah-gwar.

I'm going to have to say that NFLN's coverage of the draft was awful, especially Day 3. I watched it live and recorded ESPN to fast forward through to see what they had to say about certain picks. ESPN was showing player highlights clear into the 7th round (not all of them but a good chunk). NFLN maybe showed five after round 5 and spent 2 hours talking about a fucking orangutan. :-)

ESPN's coverage is much better without Berman.

Yeah, it was pretty horrible. You could tell that Mayock was getting fucking pissed as it went on.

He spends all year leading up to this point and then they barely talk about the players. :-)

They also kept going out to other crews that were boring and clueless. If I had my way, the draft talk would only be about the the players selected. There wouldn't be extended coach interviews, or talking incessantly about stuff that happened in the first round while ignoring what is going on round 3, or even how all of this will fit into the team. Save all that shit for the post draft analysis shows.

Yep....pretty fucking annoying. Keep all of the special guest announcers in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. 4th-7th should be talking about the picks because no one knows who the fuck some of these people are. Leave it to the NFL to turn this into a fucking circus. Next thing you know....they'll take the 6th and 7th rounds and move them to Sunday.

I record both & go back & forth.

ESPN was vastly superior to NFLN this year.

The best way to follow the draft is via twitter and it's not really close.

One thing Mahomes/Watson have going for them that most of the others didn't is they're going to good teams...

Chiefs & Texans were 9th & 10th teams in last 20 yrs to give up a future 1st RD pick to pick a QB. Yikes. Wentz/Goff we still don’t know yet pic.twitter.com/GaVtbxsVV1
