She is still far and away a one not character and every minute spent on her is one less minute spent on someone whose is way more interesting.

I see it as kind of a Catch 22. They have to spend time developing her character and showing her story for her to be interesting, but I find myself tuning out because her parts have been weak.

They have had five+ seasons and haven't yet found anything of any interest, she is one note and flat either due to writing, actress, or both. Hell, Sam is more interesting as we see him slowly man up.

I don't disagree with you. It's annoying.

Arya finally gets down to business. Let's see her fuck up the waif.

I was so hoping for a faith militant beat down. Seems like a cop out. I know it's good writing. The sparrow out maneuvered the hold money hens that have had their way forever. But damn it. Fucking kill someone.

Sam's storyline is interesting and I'm glad t went as it did.

Benjen everyone could see coming from a billion or so miles away but it was executed well.

They should have swapped Benjen/Dany scenes. Would have been a way more epic ending.

I like Dany more than most of you apparently, but I liked her in the books too. Riding a dragon is a cool skill! She has a lot to live up to being (as far as she knows) the last Targaryan. In her position, I'm not really sure what people expect her to do. She has to go and reclaim her family's throne or die trying, what choice does she really have?

It's always been a problem that things in Westeros are more interesting as we care little about Mereen and other cities on that side of the world, especially when the only reason the story is over there is to see how Dany gets dragons, gets educated on ruling, gets an army, and then gets the hell away from there and back to Westeros. In the plot it is basically a holding pattern, yet she's been there forever and doesn't look to be getting back real soon still, so the holding pattern gets a little stale. But that is how GRRM has decided to do it, so...

I guess we can assume that the ironborn will set records as to how fast they can build 1,000 ships and will then somehow sail them over there to get Dany and her army by the end of the season. The show is moving the story forward so much faster than GRRM at this point, and they don't seem to care very much about logical timing. I think we are going to have to suspend disbelief on all timing matters in the show as we head for the finish.

I thought she was solid in Terminator Genesis, so I have a feeling it is the writing.

They could have combined the ending of this episode and added it to the ending of the episode where she kills the khals. Would have helped explain further why they supported her so quickly.

The whole Jamie/Cersi/Tommen dynamic is just wildly off the rails in my opinion. Season 4 Jamie/Cersi would tell their kid what to do, they would lie to him if his wife was such a concern, but they would enforce their will.

My hope is that Jamie meets up with Brianne who tells him what is really going on and how the Starks need his army (along with the Blackfish's men) and they all lay waste to the Stark's enemies and prepare for the walkers. Because right now both Jamie and Cersi are completely unnecceary characters doing things that are out of character.

That would be an interesting change of pace. I'd watch the fuck out of that battle.

Being stoic might just be really hard to portray on screen.
