Come on now, Mahomes took a bunch of steam off the ball so Hardman could adjust and make the catch. Just like he did with Kelce standing in the endzone against the Raiders, 2nd game. Hardman should have adjusted and made the catch. [Reply]

No donkey.
Patrick threw it behind him, when Hardman was already running to his right. And Mahomes threw it kind of on a line; he should've put a little air under it so Hardman could have a chance to adjust to it. As it was it got on him so fast that he didn't have any time to make an adjustment.
Time you understood that Mahomes is actually human and does occasionally throw an errant pass. He isn't infallible. He made a mistake, and he probably has already said as much in his post-game presser. [Reply]
Is there a more overrated coach in the league than Bruce Arians? The dude gets sucked off like he's some sort of Andy Reid/Sean Payton level guru, but he's significantly underachieved this year with a laughably loaded offensive roster.
I just don't understand the love affair with the guy. [Reply]

He said as much on Twitter. But I am curious to see All-22. Might have been some no look/eye manipulation stuff going on with that one. The defense was sure lost on that play.
In terms of blame, I think both guys deserve about 50% blame on that play. Clearly not Mahomes' best throw. But Mecole is not exactly an undrafted free agent. They pay him millions of dollars and that was still a catchable ball even if it was not perfect. [Reply]

He was right... An NFL receiver makes that catch 95% or >... [Reply]

See, Mahomes admitted he screwed up. Adjust your thinking.
And it was more like 75% Mahomes throwing a bad pass and 25% Hardman is only 5' 9" or whatever, and just doesn't have that kind of reach. he barely got his fingertips on that one. [Reply]

You will never in a million years see Mahomes throw a teammate under the bus in the media. EVER. He praises the OL even when they are clearly struggling at times. I watched the dude in college praise his defense even when they would give up 60 points. It's how he is wired.
Ask Mecole and I'm guessing he would give the same answer Mahomes did. He didn't barely get his fingertips on it. He had both hands on it, not fingertips. It was not a great throw, but it was catchable. [Reply]

Again, Hardman should have probably caught it and he'd probably admit as much. Mahomes should have made a better throw and he'd probably admit as much. [Reply]
