In the meantime, this gem from Andy Reid's press conference today:

Andy Reid was asked if he did anything fun or exotic this offseason: “I attacked a couple Chile rellenos.”

My son and I were up and ready to go at 5:30am and I looked at the radar and assumed we were screwed so we didn't go.

Wish I'd have known they delayed.

Never understood the Sorenson hate. 7 INT’s and 15 passes defended in the last 3 seasons (considering he didn’t play most of last year). He can blitz, he has proven he can cover.

He isn’t a starter but he’s the kind of player you want as depth. I don’t mind if he plays single high sometimes.

If he does it likely means Thornhill is playing corner.

Uh, maybe because he was the starter and was the early projected starter?

I'd rather have Thornhill using his instincts to pick off deep passes as a single high safety than having Peters do it while abandoning his responsibility at corner.

Juan Thornhill looked good while I was there last weekend, and it sounds like he's having a day today.

He's picked up right where he left off from his time at Virginia: a ballhawk with range to play deep. He's a stud, and I still can't believe the Chiefs got him where they did.

Thornhill managing to keep up with Hill is what we call a good sign. https://t.co/BButGtFGQM

Imagine if Thornhill turns into a stud corner.

This defense looks a lot different.

Thornhill cannot play corner. He's too slow in his breaks. If he plays corner we're screwed.

And if John Lovett turns into Tony Gonzalez we should be in pretty decent shape as well...

He's physically limited and the Chiefs have generally given him way to much playing time. They also signed him to a stupid contract when he could have been replaced by a 3rd day draft pick for a quarter of the money.

Why would Thornhill play CB?

I still say he takes too much shit for his athleticism because he's a white guy.

And people think he's more of a hard-hitter than he is for the same reason.

Sorensen is game, so I have no problem with people calling him 'tough' or 'rugged' - the guy is absolutely willing to put his nose into the pile. But honestly, run support and baseline tackling are probably the worst part of his game.

He's actually a pretty damn decent playmaker. He's not a single-high guy, but few truly are. He's pretty athletic, especially for a safety.

I think he's overpaid but if the Chiefs cut him, he'd be on an NFL roster and there would be several teams bidding for his services. He's a nice player who I wish were making about $2 million less than he is. A $4.7 million cap hit for a rotational safety is pretty ridiculous. But if we had him at $2.5 million on the cap this year I think you'd keep him without question.
