Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

That and it doesn't hurt that Chiefs have Veach and Reid.
Pioli, Haley, Crennel set this team back several years. [Reply]

That’s right Veach has done an excellent job so has Reid . I was a little worried when he got here with all the negative bs coming out of philly, and it’s been just that bs.Granted he has his faults but so do we all , his can be lived with. [Reply]
Spoke with Patrick Mahomes’ agent, Leigh Steinberg, this morning.
I joked about extension being easiest of his career. Steinberg made point of getting Mahomes what he deserves while ensuring Chiefs can maintain a good roster.

Yup. This.
What’s the risk? You want him in KC for his entire career. If you give him a fully guaranteed contract, you can pay him $36-$37 million year and he can re-set the QB market on guaranteed money.
If by chance he sustains a serious injury and you lose him for a while, the team is fucked anyway cause they’re not winning jackshit without Pat.
5 years, $180 mil. FULLY guaranteed, every penny of it.
Year 1 - 25 mil. (Starting in 2021)
Year 2 - 30 mil.
Year 3 - 35 mil.
Year 4 - 42 mil.
Year 5 - 48 mil.
Pat makes bank. Doesn’t destroy the cap in the early years. Bigger hits come in the later years when the cap has risen exponentially. 5 year deal so doesn’t lock Pat and his agent in forever, so can reevaluate things in 5 years to see if this really is where he wants to spend the rest of his career (obviously Hunt will do everything in his power to make that happen).

Seems like a win win for everybody.
You also lose the ability to extend/restructure to manipulate the cap. [Reply]
Values of anything with our boy on it are going ridiculous. Got an extra $64 lying around, you can pick up a piece of confetti from SB LIV with Mahomes' "disney world" tweet on it LOL Craziness.
Any card collectors buy any Mahomes rookie cards lately?
I just bought a gem mint PSA 10 Mahomes rookie card for $1000. It’s Beckett value is $4000 but the card is only worth what someone will pay for it. [Reply]

you are close. you can't pay him 5.2 million next year, he has to get a bump on salary this year too.
6 years, last year not guaranteed.
31 next year on top of base salary. (5+mill)
37 mill year two
38 year three
41 year four
43 year five
if we win two super bowls in this time, a second fully guaranteed caveat:
we'll round up on years 1-5 and make it an even 200 mill fully guaranteed.
year 6 clause kicks in and he makes a total of 250 mill in six years :-) [Reply]
