Last year was a one-of-a-kind, so let's hope the luck carries over to this year, with Brett Veach at the helm for the first time.
Rules:
1. No spoiled picks in this thread, all weekend. This means that as tweets are leaking picks a few minutes before the selection is announced live, you don't post it in this thread (ex: embedded tweets), reference it in this thread (ex: Joe Slapdick says it's McCaffrey to Tampa) or hint at it (ex: "it's a RB!").
Don't be a dick.
Otherwise, have fun, talk shit, freak out and lose your goddamned minds. It's Draft Weekend. The hot takes in these threads are so funny.
I'll also be starting threads for each of our picks as they are made, with videos and notable stats/takes in the OP. Pure knee jerk gold to reference in the future.

I really wanted to back this guy 100% but this draft is a catastrophic failure
Throwback to the time I went bezerk when the Chiefs reached for Speaks and lost out on Josh Jackson.
He had a pick-six last night and looked every bit the Marcus Peters 2.0 I called him. What will Speaks and the two safeties do tonight?
I hope something! Because right now the only great pick in this draft looks like Tremon Smith. [Reply]
Well I haven't read one thing they've done in camp so far so I'm optimistic but worried.
Meanwhile Josh Jackson is going to be a star like many predicted. It was so easy to see the similarities to Peters' game. Sickening that we missed him and David Amerson is out here getting roasted instead. [Reply]

When has a great DE/OLB ever had an underwhelming college career?
I want Veach to be right, and I'll certainly give Speaks some time and plenty of chances, but it looked like a fucking stupid pick at the time, and it looks like a fucking stupid pick now.
Hope I'm wrong, but as of this moment, I predict Speaks will be a piece of shit. [Reply]

I mean up until last year you can certainly say he had an “underwhelming” career, but 7 sacks in a season for an interior DL in the SEC certainly isn’t.
I wasn’t a huge fan of the pick (mostly because he’s playing OLB), but after seeing him in action last week I’m cautiously optimistic. I didn’t think he looked bad at all, though I think he needs to lose another 10-15 lbs. [Reply]
I feel much better about him tonight after seeing Isaiah Oliver, who literally everyone (me included) wanted to draft with our first pick, get his goddamn asshole ripped apart tonight.
Dieter mopped the floor with that guy. Just beat the brakes off his ass like 3X including the TD.
I think speaks has plenty to work with. I gotta watch the game again but he showed enough last week and from what i saw he showed a bit this week too. Josh Jackson would have been nice - but ill let speaks develop for a year or two before i start questioning the pick too heavily. [Reply]
I'm getting pretty tired of waiting for dudes to pan out in a year or two, and then not. Be nice to hit on a defensive draft pick that comes in and blows some shit up right away. [Reply]

You mean like Marcus Peters and Chris Jones? :-) [Reply]
