Do you really not understand that a 4-3 DE and 3-4 OLB are both edge rushers? I didn’t think I’d actually have to explain this to you.
Why do you think teams move their DEs to OLB when transitioning from a 4-3 to a 3-4 and vice versa? The 49ers traded for Ford, previously a 3-4 OLB his entire career to put at the WDE in a 4-3 because they require close to identical skill sets.

Lol, you actually bought that propaganda piece? [Reply]

I can’t tell if you’re actually srs.
Move the goal posts much? Starts with Hardon for DE moves to edge rushers. What's next CB/S that rushes from the edge? [Reply]

Okafor, Chris Jones, Breeland Speaks is closer to what he had on the Saints than what he did on the Giants.
Justin Tuck, Osi, and Strahan were more of the reason that defense won the SB and held the best offense in history to 14 points in the SB moreso than Sam Madison, Gibril, and Aaron Ross. Do you disagree with that?
Saints barely fit into the conversation since that was Bountygate. He had good DEs in 2011, and nothing special at CB in St. Louis. In 2016, the #2 defense had a lot more to do with the secondary (Collins, Apple, Jenkins - outstanding) than the DEs. Of course he had something special in 2008 with his pass rushers. That doesn't make what he's doing here wrong. Spags basically decided to have a balanced defense vs. put every single dollar on our DL. That could change as the years go on. But I'd sure as hell rather see a bunch of average guys than 3 world beaters and giant piles of shit everywhere else.
And that's not even getting into if that would still work in a modern defense. Especially in a game where QBs are trying to get rid of the ball super fast and CBs and LBs have to play with so much range. [Reply]

Of course fans who can’t see beyond hE CoSt uS tHe sB tHo can’t see why an actually intelligent GM like John Lynch jumped all over that trade and immediately paid him. hE wAs oFfSiDeS tHo
Until he gets injured again which history says he will. [Reply]
