The Yale team that beat Baylor WAS better than this Penn team. They also played close to home so their fans could flood the arena and they won by a whole 3 points.
I'm not saying Penn isn't talented. I'm not saying its beyond a possibility they could pull the upset. I'm saying the slight increase doesn't equate to a reasonable threat.
I realize it isn't good to overlook an opponent... as long as you're a player or coach, so I'm all for this hype if it helps them focus more on the task at hand. But as a fan, Penn does not scare me. The only comparable team they played this year (Villanova) almost beat them by 30. I know we lost to Washington early in the year, too. But, if I allow for progress by both teams to be made over the season, that's still a sizeable gap.
Will they cover? Maybe. Win? I'm not planning on sweating this out. [Reply]

I don't think I'll be able to watch tomorrow, so let's hope you're right. I'd expect a close one, though. [Reply]

Also, absolutely no reason to be scared, we are going to roll Penn and everyone that thinks Penn had a chance will be like
"well a 16 seed shouldn't beat a 1 seed" [Reply]

Yeah, there's a good amount of parity and I'm not one to think "since it's never happen, it'll never happen"... but, it's also pointless to worry about it prior to really having something to worry about (like being down multiple possessions with 2 minutes left).
16s can hang out 20+ minutes (and I was at the WKU game where it was all game), so are we supposed to be melting down at halftime?
Hopefully KU is up 30 at halftime so we can start worrying about the next opponent ASAP. :-) [Reply]

Unless Penn comes out hot and is up 20+ in the first half and we have to rally in the second half!! I can feel it, I'm worried as much as I've ever been!! [Reply]

Best to skip and wait for next year. Hopefully less anxiety then. [Reply]
