Can't get it up here north of the border but, through a wine distributer I am able to order a case. Would like to hear from someone who knows their stuff and has tried it before I order.

I've been experimenting with aging OG using toasted oak chips...pretty interesting results. I'll probably reduce the char on future batches, but end product was amazingly different than OG out of the bottle. [Reply]

Then again, there's zero way that the liquid in that lalique decanter tastes like $140k either.
Definitely not...but I have a friend who hit it big when he sold his company. He bought an $8k bottle of cognac....Hardy I think. It was pretty friggin amazing. Unlike any cognac I've had. I'ld pay $1k for a bottle of that stuff. [Reply]

I once bought the Sam Adams Utopias... think it was ~$200, split it with a friend. We would drink a few ounces each whenever we got together for hockey. It lasted longer than I expected and I thought it was worth the one time relatively tiny splurge.
I can't imagine even spending $1000 on a bottle of bourbon or whatever, much less 15 times that, or $140k... even if I had the money, I'd never want to drink it.
Here's to hoping my 401k does brilliantly over the next 25 years. :-) [Reply]
Utopias are great. More like madeira or port than beer.
I've got a hard limit on per bottle spending and it's around $100. But when I'm at a vendor event and someone's got some expense dollars to spend, bring out the vintage menu. [Reply]
I am not a Makers Mark guy at all. I guess I understand it's supposed to be really good, but I've tried it many times over the years, and it NEVER stands out to me to be anything more than meh.
Yesterday, I was at a pub for a cancer benefit, and I saw they had Makers Mark Cask strength. I've heard good things, but as I say, it's Makers, so I don't really care. So I had one. Neet with a little water.
Holy shit. That was damn good. Shockingly good. Can't believe I'm drinking Makers good. So, there ya go. [Reply]

Just saw this. No, it was not Woodford. It was a bottle similar, with a red label, but was not Woodford. I've not had a chance to return yet, and it'll probably be gone next time I go. Ah well. [Reply]
