In order to prevent us wasting precious years of Patrick Mahomes' career, Veach needs to work some magic this offseason. What's your advice for him? [Reply]

6 ft, 4.39 speed. Good at separating. This is the definition of an Andy Reid WR.
Coming off a torn ACL in week 7. May not be full go early in the year. [Reply]
Beggars can't be choosers. The Chiefs aren't gonna spend big money on a free agent. Those are the types of guys they need to target and hope for. [Reply]

I think Veach has been so much better at bargain shopping than spending top dollar (aside from Mathieu), so it could turn out to be a blessing in disguise. [Reply]

Pretty much.
I just don't think the high end targets are gonna be in the Chiefs wheelhouse this year. Maybe I'm wrong, but they need to look to supplement, not overhaul.

Get those cornerstones in the draft.
Yup. Westbrook got his surgery in early November so he should be roughly 8.5 months into recovery by the time camp starts and 10 months by the time the opener happens. He’ll be fine.
But yeah a guy that young and cheap with that much speed would at worst be a significant upgrade over Robinson. [Reply]

He’s pretty solid for HB. It’s not like Sherman did shit for us anyways, we just need somebody on 3rd and short and at the GL. Morris can pound the ball. [Reply]

I see a lot of value in that.
I also think Beach wants a 3down linebacker he can pair with WGJ that will allow Spags to transition from as many 3 safety looks, so maybe you’re right.
He won't just take 2M and call it good though. If that's his offer from he Chiefs - 50% less than they paid him in base salary last year - he's going to want to test the FA waters.
And by all means, the Chiefs should wish him well at that point. [Reply]

I highly doubt anyone is paying a 31 year old safety with speed issues much more than that this offseason. [Reply]
