We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.
If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.
Let's get very real here on this Le'Veon Bell stuff. Anyone acting like he isn't an upgrade is fooling themselves. The guy is a solid goal line back and probably the best receiving back in the league.
I'll make this point anything is possible if you are willing to pay the cash to subvert the cap. Is Clark willing to do that? I mean no one can argue to me that it isn't worth it to go all in for the next 2 years and deal with the cap ramifications after the fact, winning a bowl is worth it.
I'll take that to see it in my life. This team could go sign Collins, Bell, Flowers and Jaimie Collins if they wanted to but that requires moves and a lot of cash maybe even moving some money on guys like Kelce and Fisher.
I think it's worth it...some won't.
Clark Hunt paid millions of dollars to make Scott Pioli go away. They were almost in the Super Bowl last season.
I don't think spending cash is an issue with Clark. He wants that Hunt and Lombardi bad. [Reply]

I hope not because if he is willing to spend a bunch of cash this team can be a bowl team for the next 2 years after that they'll be tearing it down. [Reply]
I think you have this offeseason basically to build the defense because next offseason you need to start building your offense for the next few years as Kelce begins to decline and you move on from Watkins along with Mahomes extension.
Draft and sign defense in 2019. Draft and sign offense in 2020. With any luck, you'll be in good shape overall for a few years after. [Reply]

This is where we differ...you care about 4 years from now...I don't. I care about this team winning something right now in 4 years when they are on strike/lockout I'll still be happy. [Reply]

This. Its where the Royals are now. The price we paid was well worth it. [Reply]

It's not binary.
They can sign a bunch of people now AND still have a window well into the future. You just have to structure contracts correctly. And from what I've seen so far, Veach has done a pretty good job of doing exactly that. [Reply]
