Saccopoo Memorial Draft Forum>****OFFICIAL Walterfootball.com Mock Draft Thread****
The Franchise 10:55 AM 10-14-2016
www.walterfootball.com

I'll try and update this periodically throughout the season.

17. Charles Harris, DE/OLB, Missouri

The Chiefs currently aren't getting any pressure on the quarterback. That's obviously because Justin Houston is out, but Dee Ford, starting in his place, has done nothing. Tamba Hali doesn't have much longer remaining as a pro, so the Chiefs will need to find a suitable replacement for him.

49. Anthony Walker, ILB, Northwestern

The Chiefs could spend a second-day selection on an inside linebacker, given that Derrick Johnson is nearing retirement.

There's this little analysis thing with Explosion # and Productivity Ratio that tends to be a "predictor" of success for DE/LB. Basham falls well short of the explosion # threshold of 70 at 56.4. He meets the productivity threshold of 1.0 at 1.31, but at a lower level of competition. Given that, it is unlikely he becomes a good player in the NFL. I'm not going to say he won't, but it's something to think about.

I had started calculating these for all the Edge players in the draft but got lazy and only finished the productivity ratios. I'll try and finish the rest today and post it for you.

That may be a little early, but the kid has the best ball skills in this draft, has great size for the position and would flourish in this system across from Peters.

Opposing QBs would be concerned about throwing it anywhere.

You should watch some videos of him from last year. He totally reminds me of Marcus Peters so much it's scary the way he comes off his coverage while watching the QB to undercut routes of other WRs to intercept passes and return them.

Hand that kid to Thomas/Harris and he would blossom quickly into a stud.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be fine with him in the 3rd, but in the 2nd? No thanks.

Why? So you can type the exact same paragraph only this time say that their window is that much closer to closing?

If Smith is as competent and credible as all these draft fuckos keep saying, then the Chiefs can get their replacement this year and deal Smith next year for a 3rd or 4th with a ready replacement on hand.

Because that's what they keep ignoring - not taking a QB this year doesn't mean Alex Smith in '17 - it means Alex Smith in '17 AND '18. No. 100000000 times no.

I'm done with that movie. They are going to take a quarterback in the 1st because I simply refuse to believe otherwise. Every argument that people are making against taking one this year exists again next year and with ever GREATER urgency.

Take the goddamn quarterback.

Bossreach needs to double down on his pick of Douglas in the mock, even though there were obviously better options available at the time...

We won't see eye to eye on this pick anytime soon.

Getting a CB with great size and elite ball skills with a comp 3rd is a steal though.

Chad Reuter's most recent 6-round mock...
