Nzoner's Game Room>THE COUNTDOWN to the NFL TRADE DEADLINE THREAD - Tues. Oct. 29th @ 4:00p Eastern Time
arrowheadnation 10:18 AM 10-08-2019
I figured I would create one location to house all of the breaking news, rumors, pessimism, despair, helplessness, frustration, and of course optimism leading up to the 2019 NFL Trade Deadline on:

Tuesday, October 29th @ 4:00p Eastern Time

3 weeks from today! We all have ideas of what the Chiefs need so I won't go into that, but hopefully this day will come and go with better results than last year for us.

That is a weird trade, if they were willing to go that high why didn't they try to get AJ Green?

I'm going to need Geno Atkins and Xavien Howard to be Chiefs by the end of the day or...

It seems like draft picks have been devalued recently. Maybe it's a trend.

Cincy isn’t trading him. He’s viewed as a critical locker room/culture piece for them apparently.

Tried to tell people the Pats weren’t getting Diggs or Green because they weren’t even on the trade block.

People think the Pats can just do whatever the hell they want.

Trade wise, no.

Winning superbowls, yes, looks that way.

Former Cleveland Browns CEO Joe Banner believes it's because of the miss rate in the draft: "With teams only hitting on 50 percent of first-round picks and virtually no team without cap room, the value of a proven veteran has gone up and an unknown draft pick has gone down. When cap was tight, teams needed to hit on cheaper draft picks to be able to afford veterans. Now you can build a much higher percentage of your team with established players."

The Rams are attempting to load up for a Super Bowl run with this mindset. The Chiefs traded for cornerback Kendall Fuller and defensive end Frank Clark as huge parts of their defensive identity. The Cleveland Browns traded for wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. in a massive move.
Teams finally started learning from New England

Not a trade but Veach should try since he is a FA

@TomPelissero: Former No. 3 overall pick Dion Jordan is eligible to return from suspension in a few weeks, and @tareqazim tells me a bunch of NFL teams have been calling. Jordan weighs 273 with 8% body fat, feels good mentally and physically ... and looks like this. https://twitter.com/TomPelissero/sta...778306/video/1

@TomPelissero: Background on Jordan, who told me in May he’s sober, healthy and eager to play after serving his 10-game suspension for taking Adderall: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...rall-violation

@JasonLaCanfora: Falcons remain a team to watch ahead of next week's deadline. Over weekend was getting the sense they would be willing to do what's necessary (i.e. eat some salary) to move guys like Trufant, Beasley, Mack to get picks and clear out cap/cash for 2020. Very top-heavy roster

I’m fine with trades like Ogbah, Erving etc but trades like Jalen Ramsey can’t happen when you’re paying your QB huge money. The Rams were stupid to do that.

Soon the Rams will be in a fire sale just like the Falcons. They’re gonna have to offload salaries and guess what? They don’t have good draft picks.

If you think draft picks don’t matter like they used to, I’d recommend looking at the Colts model.
