Can't get it up here north of the border but, through a wine distributer I am able to order a case. Would like to hear from someone who knows their stuff and has tried it before I order.

I love this thread, and it had been over 5 minutes since you lobbed that softball. Had to fulfill my CP duty. [Reply]
I'll put it this way: I like my whiskey straight and around body temp (don't ask me how I do that part), maybe every once a decade I like it on ice. But I like Manhattans okay.

Idk what places will do tastings but the Belfry downtown is a great whiskey bar, and Julep in Westport is pretty good too. Literally every whiskey you can imagine. [Reply]

Go to The Belfry downtown. You’ll probably need me to come to show you where it is. [Reply]
I need to revisit that place, haven't been there in years. The selection and prices have grown to exorbitant levels.
I was weened off of cheap booze at Harry's Tables
Best thing I ever had there was a young Springbank. I only had one $$$ even back then
My best scotch story....
Spoiler!
About 2000 I was with a DR. buddy of mine in Springfield IL (I was picking up a car at Isringhausen) we went into a edge of downtown bar and asked what they had for top shelf scotch. I think we had a McCallen Sherry (Best thing on display).Soon the barkeeper came out with two dusty wooden, silk lined boxes of Springbank,(OMG!!!) one a 15 year and the other a 1969. YA I said 1969!
They did not know what they had so the price was very fair. After finishing the 3/4 full bottle of 1969 for $600 the bar told us we needed to slow down and asked us how we we getting home. (Doc called the Sheraton about 3 blocks away, ordered 2 rooms, and told the bartender that if we were unable to walk, to order a cab and gave him a c-note to cover it. When we ordered again they serving us the 15 YO at no charge. After tip and cab ride, it was an $860 drunk.
I wish I could drink like that now.

Where are you finding the Willett? All I have come across in the past two years is Willett Rye. [Reply]
I’ve been trying out some Irish whiskey of late and really impressed with Redbreast and Green Spot. Particularly the Redbreast cask strength and Green Spot that was finished in California Zinfandel barrels. [Reply]

I'd also recommend the Yellow Spot and Tullamore D.E.W. 12 Special Reserve. [Reply]
