I remember hearing that Bill Belichick benched Corey Dillon a game back in the day when he was hurt. He was suited up and went through drills pre-game but clearly wasn’t anywhere near 100%.
Bill later said he went with the backup RB bc he healthy and could do his job. Basically said that players that are hurt, especially at positions like RB and LB that take so much physicality to their body in a game, are not worth playing. [Reply]
