Parker Ehinger may not be ready for Chiefs training camp
by Joel Thorman@ArrowheadPride Jun 16, 2017, 8:04am CDT
One injury note coming from the end of the Kansas City Chiefs mandatory minicamp this week is G Parker Ehinger. It sounds like the Chiefs aren’t counting on him to be ready for training camp. How do we know that? Because Andy Reid said they’re not counting on him to be ready for training camp.
“I think it will be a race for him to be ready to go,” Reid said when asked about Ehinger via quotes from the Chiefs. “I’m not counting on that.”
The Chiefs are pretty rock solid at the other four spots on the offensive line. Ehinger was a draft pick last year who won the job out of camp but then got injured and was done for the year. He’s still pretty inexperienced.
Not many teams can plug in a backup who has 34 starts under his belt but that’s what the Chiefs have with Zach Fulton. The Chiefs offensive line still looks like a potential strength this year with or without Ehinger. [Reply]

Man, muddafugger play the dude already - Let him take his lumps and get him fully prepared for the 2018 season-
Look, here's truth on your doorstep-
Chiefs will not make the AFCCG.. even if they do... Do any of you knuckleheads really think you can go into Foxboro in Dec and beat them??? LOL.. it's simply not gonna happen with Alex Smith
Whattya say we just stop wasting everybodies time and just give the kid the nod-
:-) Maybe we should let 2PM fully learn the playbook first? [Reply]

If he's properly conditioned, he might challenge for the left guard spot.
Mama could completely take the starting job long term if he is really, really good. I like Ehinger, but they aren't going to hand him that job back coming off an ACL if the replacement is playing well. [Reply]

Do you really believe Mahomes has poor accuracy? With as much as he has to adjust to in the league, do you think Dorsey and Reid would draft somebody at QB solely for athletic talent and nothing else.
Ehinger tore his ACL in October 2016. Since HGH testing began, it's taking guys at least 12 months to recover and in some cases, much longer.
Ehinger will start out the season on the PUP and if he's not ready by Week 8, he'll go on IR.
Anyone counting on him to start the season would be foolish.
It has nothing to do with HGH testing. The half life of that stuff is like 2 hours. Good luck nailing someone when you are giving them at least 24hr notification. [Reply]

Mahomes isn't Tebow.
