I mean honestly, does he look like he was the 67th best HS recruit in the nation? Aboslutely not. Doesn't play like it either. Most people wouldn't have known that by watching the guy play.
Not sure why you see that. He looks like a Top 100 player to me, but just with no basketball skills. He has long arms for his size (almost 7' wingspan) and he's very bouncy. But he has NO post moves, really bad footwork, and horrible touch around the rim. He really has quite alot of raw basketball talent, but very little skills at all. Imagine if he had Doke's low post moves and *Gasp* touch. Yes, Doke actually has better touch than Lightfoot down low. Lightfoot is like a cross between Jamari Traylor & a smaller Sasha Kaun but can shoot a little. Good athleticism, little basketball skills. [Reply]

He's pretty good on the defensive end but he's playing out of position. He can't guard big centers. [Reply]

He just doesn't have the bulk to hold position against big guys. Lightfoot should be a stretch 4, and I think he's got the shooting ability to hit some 3's for us moving forward. [Reply]

However, it doesn’t LOOK (I’m not digging up any stats) like that look, either offensively or defensively is better than the 4 guard look with Lightfoot or Doke in the middle.
Big guy hitting 3s is all well and good but it is an awful lot better if the big can put pressure on the defender off the bounce. Which nobody is scared of Mitch doing. Yeah it still pulls the big out of the lane, sure, but this team hasn’t been wrecked by a shot blocker much and the times they were they still won. (I’m thinking UT and WVU).
Maybe the numbers don’t support my position but it looks that way to me. [Reply]
Why would anyone want Mitch jacking up 3s? He's about the 5th best option for that when he's on the floor. He's done a really good job getting garbage buckets, blocking some shots, and (occasionally) getting a rebound. He's a really nice bench big guy, he's gotten aggressive finishing at the rim lately too. Bail & staff has done a great job with him frankly [Reply]

Who said anything about jacking up 3's? His range extends out that far, and if he hits the occasional shot from 3 point range as one of two bigs on the floor as a backup, it gives the team a lot of flexibility. He needs another true big on the floor for him to be as effective as he can be. [Reply]
Looking like Doke won't be partaking in the Big 12 Tournament. Sprained his MCL while scrimmaging. Grade one sprain. Just in time for March Madness baby:-) [Reply]

Don't care about the Big 12 tournament, would be nice to get SDS some reps but need him to be 100% by the NCAA. :-):-):-) [Reply]

Got the streak to 14....didn't have expectations from there-on-out. Does anyone really think this team is FF-worthy? If you do....you haven't been paying any attention this season.
