Dennis Miller was a PR stunt & test. He was quickly canned after like a year.
I just get a kick out of how much you guys say some of these announcers are so bad. You couldn't do better. They may annoy you, but they are waaaaay better than the guys doing high school games on Metro Sports. [Reply]

It wasn't hyperbole when I said I have listened to better announcers calling girls high school basketball on Metro Sports, I meant it. I tried listening to a game earlier this year, and he was so bad I couldn't do it. I have been a die-hard KU fan since I was 15. I have seen 95% of every game broadcast on television since 1986. It's probably a higher percentage but I have missed a few exhibition games since whole Time Warner deal.
If, for some reason I couldn't watch a KU game, and my only option would be to listen on the radio, I would search out the opposing teams radio stream and listen to it instead.
Baseball is different from basketball and doesn't call for too much emotion.
I don't think you guys appreciate how bad Self owned Drew on that last play. Drew calls a timeout draws up a play and Self completely goes off norm and had them trap the Baylor guy which forced him to take an awful shot. I guarantee Drew never expected that to happen. Self is the god damn man. [Reply]

Drew said the play was drawn up to get the ball to Motley. Self said the defensive plan was to keep the ball out of Motley's hands. Self said Jackson made the decision to stay on Lecomte on his own. Great defensive call, and great team defense on the last play.
There was a stat like Baylor is 40 something and 6 when having a lead in the second half, and 4 of those 6 losses are to Bill Self.

It was JJ's excellent defensive instincts that forced Lecomte into that difficult shot, but Self was aware of what Baylor was going to do before they did it (throwing the lob into Motley) and had JJ there to prevent it. [Reply]
