I guess we filled up the old one... http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=280149

Welcome to 2014! Now get your ass in top physical condition!

No one else started it so here it is!

**From the 2013 Thread**

If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE:

http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs

If you have questions about the SS programs, look here:

http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ

Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started.

Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE:

http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm

If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point.

No to the jumping jacks. Maybe to cardio.
Glad you realized . Jumping rope is hard on the knees and at 25 it won't bother you much but over time you'll need your knees replaced.

Any good suggestions to strengthen my back?
Low back is pretty tough. All I've ever seen is a reverse sit up machine and resistance bands shut in a door while you are sitting on a stool.

I thought there had to be something better and went looking. There are a lot of stretches that are important too and I do recommend, but not a lot to build strength. A lot of yoga exercises work the back, but far be it for me to know which ones or how to properly execute them.

I am looking to make some sandbags and do some backyard workouts for conditioning using it. Trouble is it will get dropped on gravel or pavement and I have nothing that I think will hold up to that. Some of the bags online are dumb expensive. I don't want to buy a pre-made bag as I want my sandbags to be about 10lbs each and I can make those myself. I'm looking cheap here (jewdog).
Try military surplus stores

Try doing a few Bird Dogs daily or at least a few times a week.

I haven't touched iron since June of '16.

Excited to get back to it this week.

Grade 3 A/C separation and torn labrum back in June. Finally mostly healed, I think. No surgery necessary at this point.

I bought a couple of kettlebells and some TRX straps, but you can only do so many bodyweight exercises before you get really, REALLY tired of it. I was doing one-arm incline pushups (feet in the air, so it functions like an incline barbell press, kinda), and 12 sets of 60 pushups and pull-ups. I'm so goddamned done with that shit. On the plus side, I'm pretty good at pistol squats now.
