The latest ESPN bracketology is sure yearning for that 1 vs 8 match up and currently putting KU vs WSU to play each other in the 2nd rd. If Missouri ever makes the NCAA tourney, let me assure you the committee will do everything they can to make KU play Missouri. [Reply]

Yeah, Lunardi is all about the regional matchups, as well as putting KU and UNC together... his brackets are kind of a joke, outside of predicting seeds. [Reply]
Seems like CBS has too big of a hand in it, these days ... just setting up matchups for ratings. I get it, I get it ... they pay a lot of money [Reply]

I am fine with UNC as we always seem to beat them no matter how good their team is [Reply]

For 99% of the NCAA sports player pool, scholarship room and board is more than enough compensation. The school and NCAA shouldn't have to pay any player anything, BUT players should be allowed to make money off their name. Make appearance on Sportscenter, sign shoe deal, get paid for appearance somewhere OUTSIDE the course of their team duties. You can tax it. Cap it, if you want, I guess. You can even make trusts if you don't want the kid to touch it while he's in school so it's accessible after school.
I think the second you open that door, the floodgates open.
You would basically have each school paying their players, all be it in the form of tv contracts or endorsements. College basketball would become a non salary cap professional sports. [Reply]
Yes, it's an impossible answer. But there is no doubt that the NCAA is benefiting significantly from unpaid labor making many a person and network rich - so the idea of selfishly thinking a player should or needs to stay and continue working for free when that player is talented enough to make a significant living turning professional grinds my gears [Reply]

I get what you are saying and I wouldn't want a team like Kentucky.
But I still like seeing some amazing talents even if one and dones.
Embiid progressed over the season and his rim protection was amazing. If his health had held up KU probably gets a final four if not a title.
I hope he can finally have a long healthy NBA career. That's looking iffy. [Reply]

2009 UNC as well. But good point in general. [Reply]

Tainted^. RoiBoi guilted his players to all come back, Hansbrough-Green-Ellington-Lawson. The other 3 FF teams lost a boatload of talent (Love, Westbrook, Derrick Rose, CDR, Chalmers/Rush/Arthur). It was a joke title.
The dirty little dirtball tried to pull the same stunt in 2012 by telling Barnes-Henson-Zeller the NBA lockout was imminent. (We lost the Morris Twins). The scam almost worked as he rolled thru the season until we put an end to them in the elite 8 [Reply]
