I hope Francona is chewing his ass in the dugout. [Reply]
As I was telling a buddy today, if you can look at this scientifically, this season is going about as well as you could hope for as a Royals fan.
Merrifield has cemented his value. They’ll either get a haul for him or get cheap, Star production.
Mondesi has backed up his electric second half.
Dozier has been a pleasant surprise and showed his hot September was legit. He’s a legit piece to work with now.
Lopez has been solid in his debut and is a player who has a history of improving drastically as he gets more time at each level.
Soler has stayed healthy and is blasting the ball, current slump aside.
Gordon’s resurgence is fun.
They’re losing because the bullpen stinks and the rotation is thin. But another premium pick is coming.
The draft went well. And the 2018 draft continues to impress. All those college pitchers - not just the big 3 - are excelling.
Khalil Lee is putting it together at AA and is looking like a potential 20-30 guy with sterling RF defense.
The only thing that hasn’t gone well is the performance of Pratto, Melendez, and Matias. Melendez is showing signs of turning it around but really needed 2/3 of them to keep it going. [Reply]
