We all have varying opinions about the impact of this, the numbers, etc. We will all never agree with each other. But we can all keep it civil.

Thanks!

I am going to have to say that if you work in kc and stay at a kc hospital they don't count it here since I have a aunt with it.

Taiwan has removed many of their restrictions, but they were doing proactive testing and contact tracing back when they had essentially zero cases. When those systems are in place, it's easier to open things up because you are able to identify new problem areas and quickly snuff them out.

The goal is to get the numbers of new cases down to a very low level, which seems difficult, but is achievable. Once we do that, you can start relaxing things strategically. We won't have large gatherings for a while, but low-risk activities can be opened back up. If things get out of hand, you contract back.

So in short, yes, things will open up a bit, so no, the full restrictions won't go on indefinitely. However, it will likely be a dance between loosening restrictions, seeing cases climb, tightening restrictions, etc. until a vaccine is widely in place.
In an effort to oversimplfy things, here's my understanding of the various options. The numbers and timing are completely made up, so don't take this as any sort of prediction. It's just to give you the gist of how these things work.

The reality is that the "no intervention" version would probably be bigger and more prolonged, and the "waves" in the current plan won't happen nearly that quickly. Hopefully it helps to at least frame the concept, though.

if you think you're going to shut this country down into 21, it's already over and you're wasting your time even talking about this.

"Shut this country down" can have thousands of different meanings. Will there be some restrictions into 2021? Barring a vaccine or treatment miracle, the answer is 100% yes, so now's the time to start accepting that.

Will things be as restricted as they are now? Almost certainly not.

It's not a black and white issue, so the questions are all about WHAT restrictions there will be, not whether there will be any.

point is still valid though. If there was an outbreak like 200 or so. Push it back but it's not taking over the city and it has been a couple weeks. The only thing I can say on the other side is st joe is like mossimo. We got those t-shirts eleven years after they were cool.
