Not sure if true, but read somewhere that Soren Petro asked someone who spoke with Dayton Moore who he would pick between Rutschman and Witt if given the chance, and he joked it would be whomever read their Bible more. [Reply]

There's 15 weeks left in the season. Just make up 1 game a week and we're right there. [Reply]

Third year in and at A ball he hit 28 HR, .301 avg. .903 OPS.
His last real year in AAA he hit 17 HR, hit .293, .899 OPS. He would have only been 25 years old.
Did he just give up?
He started getting injured and other guys passed him by. The Royals let him go and eventually he decided to go to college instead.
I thought the story was pretty good if you have an Athletic subscription and want to read it. [Reply]

While that is most likely a joke the heavy religious influence on the Royals is pretty mind boggling......Mike Matheny is going to be this teams manager for that reason. [Reply]

We aren't going to get it. I don't even think we will get #5 as long as Dozier comes back and we don't have more freak injuries. This is not a good team, don't get me wrong, but they are a hell of a lot better than the worst team in the MLB. [Reply]

Especially if we end up calling up some of the bullpen arms in AAA. Looks like a few of them are starting to put it together down there. [Reply]
I think Soler should put to rest any notion that power hitters can't survive in Kauffman due to the cavernous outfield. The dude is crushing it. Can he stick to the OF long term, or is he better off going to DH? [Reply]

He can under no circumstances stick in the OF long term. He's played a ton of OF already this year and he's only a 0.3 WAR. That is how bad he is. For the Royals, he needs to be the DH - and stay there. Boni gets traded or DFA. [Reply]
