I have to confess, I'm a huge alcoholic and always have been, I've been sober in increments of 5 years and one other time for ten years. I recently reflected on how much I have been/was consuming. I'm completely through this time. I just can't do it anymore. I'll be honest - after this last time, I'm lucky to even be here right now.
I love you guys and promise to each of you, this is the new beginning to my life and I'm completely done with drinking.
Thanks for the ear. If anyone else is struggling. Please feel free to chime in if you wish.
Got a call this morning that my high school quarterback was dead at 51. Apparently the woman he’d been married to for 5 years left him and took her three kids with her and he went on a 5 month drinking binge. They found him yesterday.
Dude dedicated himself to the slide. Don’t you do that. [Reply]

Poor soul. Alcoholism is a disease of loneliness. I wonder if she left him because of his drinking. [Reply]

Apparently not. I was with them last year and they were a fun loving couple. But I don't know the details. He wasn't an alchy though, dedicated to her kids and a good career. Surrounded by friends.
Couple of the guys took him fishing last week, he was so drunk he couldn't sit the boat. Dude took a wrong turn and he just kept going.
Thanks guys - I have to crash big day tomorrow - I appreciate your pushing me through the initial grind. Thanks to all of you except Stewie, that guy is an asshole. [Reply]
It sucks when a lot of people in the world think the way to fight the problem is to belittle the person to nothing (the person with the problem) [Reply]
