In all the celebration about Mahomes/Kelce let’s not forget about Watkins “quiet” contributions on Sunday. A 48 yard catch and run in the first drive of the 3rd quarter to put us deep in Texans territory and set up the first Williams TD run. A14 yard jet sweep run to help set up Damian Williams second TD run and a 28 yard 4th quarter reception that set up the 8 yard TD pass to Bell. Watkins is dangerous and must be accounted for in the field, anytime he can help get chunks of yards to move the offense up and down the field is a good days work [Reply]

Correct.
No point at all in frontloading a contract unless the player is willing to take a massive hit on AAV over the life of the year. And frankly, with the signing bonus structure there's little reason to do that (and it creates obvious motivation issues for the latter parts of the deal).
Yeah, you NEVER frontload a deal if you can avoid it. Makes zero sense. [Reply]

This.
This is really not going out on the limb here but because to your point he has been so underutilized so far this season and you know Andy has been saving his best stuff and also coming up with other things as well, I believe this SB will be the Mahomes/Watkins show !!!! SF will double TH and Kelce going back and forth on those two but they have no answer for Watkins. Count on it !!
Regardless of what happens down the road, Sammy should never have to pay for another burnt end in KC as long as he lives. He'll always be a Chief and a champion. [Reply]
