More trade news: The #Chiefs are deep in talks with the #49ers on a trade for star pass-rusher Dee Ford, sources say. Things have escalated and this could get done by the end of the night. Ford needs to work out a new contract with SF, which is a big piece of this.
I think the hate Ford gets for one play is one of the stupidest things I've ever seen.
We don't wanna pay an elite edge rusher with an injury history $15MM, but we signed an undersized safety with an injury history for $14MM per for 3 years?

First to last. This is what happened the last time we traded our best pass rusher when Jared Allen went to the Vikes.
While you might very well be right, I would remind you of two things:
1. That excellent pass rush was still part of a historically bad defense.
2. More importantly, we don't know the full picture yet. The offseason is young. Veach isn't an idiot. I'm pretty sure our two top pass rushers next year aren't going to be K-Pass and Speaks. We have a long way to go. [Reply]

You can scheme up to put pressure on the QB. Well, Sutton couldn't but Spags will. What did pressure and sacks do? It led us to a shit last defense. [Reply]
Having a pipeline of multiple high round picks in the future helps improve the odds of cheap young talent coming on board to replace some of the players hitting their big contract years to work around paying TH 100mil, CJ 80mil and PM 200mil coming up. Veach has already talked about the Chiefs prepping for some big contracts coming up in the future. [Reply]
