He is supposed to have a great 40 time, but he never runs away from anyone in the open field. That long return he had last year would have been a TD with DAT in the open field. Now, maybe DAT doesn't get to the open field, but imagine Tyreek on that same play. Neither Tyreek or DAT are getting run down from behind in the open field on a kickoff return.

In fairness to him, I think I remember his saying he slowed up (which is an entirely separate issue). If you watch the video, you can see he lost track of one of the Patriots players as the guy had veered off the field onto the sideline and then came back to chase him down.
I think he looks a lot more like a 4.3 guy than Knile Davis looked like a 4.37 guy, though I am setting the bar pretty low with that comparison. [Reply]

That is not a list of the fastest players in the NFL. Do you think Hill would have been run down from behind on that play?
Last year Dave Toub said that Tremon Smith was the second fastest player on the team, only behind Hill, obviously. Have you ever watched Smith run, and thought wow, he's almost as fast as Tyreek Hill? If you did you are stupid.
Chiefs STC Dave Toub said DeAnthony Thomas fielding the ball at the 5-yard line against the Colts in Week 5 is "exactly what I wanted done." Toub said today's punters are good at killing ball at 1-yard line, prefers returners to field it if they feel it's not going in end zone.
