I enjoyed the movie overall. A little over-the-top, but still a good flick.
What I loved:
Val Kilmer's acting. I've never seen him act better. Good stuff.
When they first went after the Cowboys, and Earp (I think) jumped through the fucking window, and then killed all the Cowboys there. That was fucking sweet.
The things that really bothered me were:
The wasted shooting on horseback, especially when you couldn't see that they were shooting at anyone. Does this happen in most Westerns?
Kurt Russel's mustache. That was just ridiculous.
The end of the movie, where Wyatt doesn't have to worry about money ever again because his bitch's family is rich, and he's perfectly OK with just mooching and getting room service from her moneys. [Reply]

I find him boring and iwth limited range. I more or less have him and Keanu Reeves in the same box -- they're fine as "steady, strong, emotionless warriors", but that's about it.

Untouchables was Costner's best work in my book. By far.
Note that I"m not a huge sports movie fan, so while I liked Field of Dreams, I don't gush over it like some folks.
When I lived in Iowa I used to take visitors to the Field of Dreams. At the right time of the day, when the corn is standing tall, it is a very cool place to be.
Although the fact that it is divided between two owners is kind of weird.
But the Ertl toy outlet on the way more than makes up for that. [Reply]
Watching Back to the Future Part III tonight with my son and got to the part where Buford Tannen shoots Marty (Clint Eastwood, heh) and it appears that Buford does the exact same "dance" as Curly Bill in Tombstone four years later.
I would have to load them up back to back to be sure but they are damned similar. Almost like Powers Boothe wanted to do it that way. [Reply]
