Hammock Parties 02:54 PM 07-26-2019
So much fail in that franchise they need an official thread like the Donkeys.

Let's get it going.

Raiders WR Antonio Brown has been placed on the non-football injury list to begin camp, per source

I know I’ve said it two or three times, but it’s going to be extremely interesting to see how that situation unfolds. IMOP the trajectory of these QB contracts is not sustainable (even for billionaires). At some point we’re surely going to see a liquidity issue and if the Burrow contract isn’t the straw that breaks the camel’s back…there will be one eventually.

Granted, I suspect that NFL teams are highly profitable so the model must work, but those teams need the money, whereas numerous other teams could be run as a hobby.

I kind of wonder if we could at some point have teams fold if the big-money TV contracts take a hit. In the 1920s teams folded because expenses were really low but revenues were also really low. Then we had a long period of time where expenses were relatively low and revenues grew rapidly. Now we're in an era where expenses are really high. Some of these legacy teams need revenues to be really high to cover those expenses, so if the revenues go down, what happens to them?

I think they’re eventually going to have to implement individual salary caps by position at some point.

#Raiders locker room was pretty upbeat today. Lots of smiles and laughs. Super Smash Bros battles. Group convos. Somebody in the shower playing 2000s R&B. Lines up with what we've seen during the week this year; just got to carry that over to game days.

Yeah, if I'm not mistaken, the Patriots spent more in FA than any other team last year.

That sort of thing isn't sustainable.

I guess I'm misreading the table.

You're reading it right. The Patriots have spent the least amount on FAs this past offseason/season.

We're just saying that the Patriots spent the most on FAs the offseason before this latest one and that's not something you can expect every year.
