After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The series will be written and executive produced by Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau, as previously announced, with Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) directing the first episode.
Additional episodic directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).
It will be executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer. Stay tuned to StarWars.com for updates.

the whales seem to potentially point to the end of rebels linking up with mando and the ashoka series...which basically means thrawn...which means, essentially, live action heir to the empire
favreau literally running an end around on kathleen kennedy's awful sequel trilogy, as predicted....we already got luke back, can super duper cgi han solo be far behind? :-) [Reply]

Yeah, she looks good, but she is REALLY fucking good in that role. She dooes a good job of communicating the experiences from cannon. I wasn't necessarily her biggest fan, but she is fucking good in this role. [Reply]
The underground dwellers were right out of HG Wells The Time Machine. The bionic scavenger was pure Robocop....classic example of something Star Wars that makes you want to know more about where it came from and what it is. :-)
Spoiler!
THE FUCKING MYTHOSAUR. Din Djarin is going to be riding that thing by the end of the series.
Wow, that was an incredible episode. They are just nailing this. The depiction of Mandalore makes me want an entire fucking Mandalorian big screen movie(s) at this point. There's so much potential there.
Bo-Katan was fucking bad ass. When she said
Spoiler!
"Did you think your father was the only Mandalorian?" I giggled and almost cried. Some great ass kicking this episode.
Can't wait to see them find a way to bring back the badass droid. It's gonna happen.
The crab droid defeated Din Djarin. Bo Katan used the dark saber to defeat the crab droid. So shouldn't she be able to claim the dark saber now?Seems like she should have kept it, and he probably wouldn't care anyway.

I said the same thing to my wife as soon as she picked it up. "Well, it's hers now."
