Nzoner's Game Room>2019 Free agency Thread
O.city 03:24 PM 02-05-2019
We don't really have one of these yet, so figured we could use this as a place to discuss potential free agent acquisitions and what we would like to look for them to bring in.

If any of you guys are interested, heres a good place to do some research.

I'd pay Earl Thomas before I'd pay Collins.

It's pretty hilarious to me that people are freaking out about starting Dee Ford next season but want to sign a safety that had a metal rod inserted into the center of his leg bone less than two months ago and just assume that running on it will be ~fine~

Ford = Brokedick- even though he played well all last year.

ET = Superstar- carted off the field last year with a broken leg.

Well, I've been one of the most vocal about not wanting to keep Dee Ford.

And I've said multiple times that the time to sign Thomas was last year. I don't want him now and I've been pretty clear about that.

Jason La Canfora on the market for FA safeties:
Earl Thomas - $13M/yr
Tyrann Mathieu - $12M/yr
Landon Collins - ~$12M/yr
Adrian Amos - $9-10M/yr https://t.co/437onX6N7R

A broken leg is a little different than a back injury, no?

He broke the same leg, in the same place. It's a potential recurring injury, just like Ford's back or Morse's brain.

I'm not big on giving big money to guys with recurring issues.

He says in there the Chiefs seem to be planning on keeping Berry, so give me Earl and buy a bunch of HGH for him and Berry.

At those prices, Amos is the top of my list.

He didn't have surgery on it the first time, but did this time. I don't think he'd have another issue with it if it's healed correctly.

Fuck, I dunno guys. I might just draft a safety and take that money to sign a corner I traded for long term.

Maybe. I'd guess Amos is headed to Denver with his old DC, plus I'm always a little hesitant to sign a guy coming off of a stacked D.

If I can't have one of the big names here, i'd just go with the draft or flip one of our 2nds or a 3rd for a current safety somewhere.
