You guys are right in that people just need to pay attention. That's also why we, as bikers, have to really be on alert. Not saying that was your case. Just saying that there are times when I can anticipate something bad is about to happen. I try to get away from drivers that I see that are not paying attention. Or when I come to an intersection I watch the other drivers just to be sure that they see me. I mean, how many times do you hear about a biker crashing because someone turned left in front of him? But yeah, there's still that random thing that happens. I hate people that drive like it's their personal race track. Look before you change lanes, jack ass!

I would have said from the beginning that if he wanted to communicate something, he could call my lawyer, because I will sue the shit out of the cager who does this to me. These fucking cagers think that's a valid excuse though. The more I ride in traffic the more I realize, they only notice the bikes that ride fast and aggressive. So the more I ride in traffic, the more I ride like I stole it.

not back on one yet, but not by choice. hell, the day after, I went to the dealership to get a better look at my bike that was wrecked. when we were leaving I told the wife 'let's go back through the showroom to look at the shiny bikes". and there I was sittin gon a 2016 Road Glide....in shorts, flip flops, tank top, and bandages all over my GD body. I sat on one and was like 'man...this is sweet'. Wife just rolled her eyes, shook her head and let out a sigh. Salesman, naturally walks over with the 'we can get you on that bike today'. I said "nah, i'm good. I just wrecked my SG yesterday", and another customer heard and looked over like I was fucking crazy.

now I'm just dealing with all the paperwork bs from medical, and getting the bike paid off since they totaled it. I bought $400 GAP insurance, and have probably $2k negative equity on it, so I'm dealing with all that paperwork bs now. Time consuming shit.

Probably won't get everything buttoned up until end of Sept i would imagine, based on how slow shit is taking currently. I'll be looking again probably December, or early Spring.

I spent damn near a year debating on whether to trade up to the SG, ....now I'm back to square one lol. Though, as much as I LOVED the SG....I'm not sure I'm hip on having so much tied up into a motorcycle. I like to be in that Sub 11-12k range. Still really love the wide glides and I've been eyeing them, and road kings as well. I'm sure I'll spend another 6 months trying to figure out WTF I want. lol

totally. My brother and I have logged a ton of miles together and can basically finish each others thoughts while riding (when to switch lanes, etc). Love riding with him because of that. I usually always flow just a little faster than traffic just so I'm not in one spot for too long. This case was literally a perfect storm of shitty timing. I was doing my usual, and as I was passing him on his right, he decided to come on over right as I was at his rear door etc. Literally had time to grab brake, wiggle the back end and let off and grab more front and say "shit...shit...shit"...then bam. it was ass over tea kettle. lol. just 'that' fast.

My half helmet was from Crazy Al's. LOVED that helmet. It did it's just more than fine. I didn't so much as have a concussion. best $100 I ever spent. DOT is key.

yeah, usually when able, I get the fuck as far away from motherfuckers as possible. if it means I bend a few speed laws, so be it. Fuck em.
I've had a few people on occasion stop next to me at lights and roll down their window and let me know they didn't like how I 'sped past them'...shit like that. Promptly tell them to get fucked. Told it to one guy with his old lady in the car and he goes "maybe I outta get out and you can say that shit to my face". Turned off the bike, kick stand down and said "do what you gotta do". as I figured, motherfucker stayed in his car.

I have a different mindset for sure when I'm on a bike. I'm quick with a middle finger, and tell people EXACTLY what my problem is if I get a chance at a light etc. All while realizing, of course, car vs bike....car always wins. So I choose wisely when doing so. lol. Hard to explain...but I'm not so much as more agressive per se, just a LOT less tolerable for dumbfucks driving a car.

I understand that completely. I'm much the same way. Although I gotta be careful and not appear to be starting a fight as I carry and that can get me into a lot of legal trouble.

Good to know the half helmet did its job. I wear a DOT approved one, as well. It wasn't expensive. I think it was $30 something on sale at Leatherup.

I had a bike cop tell me that they are trained to go about 10 mph over the flow of traffic. That is the rule I typically follow. I get with my friends and we've been known to act a little stupid, not gonna lie. In rush hour traffic though, you gotta be on your game. I counted 6 cars in a row that the driver was nose down in their cell phone. I swear, I wanna start throwing shit at them...

See, I freaking love taking Gravel Roads. With the Tiger it eats it up, good dual sport tires are a must, sure it can be loose, but you have to be loose and ride it with throttle and don't tense up. Plus you see some of the best scenery around.
As far as the dust, I get a leaf blower and blow it off when I am done. Re-Oil the chain and good to go.
Last Fall I did a Trans-Iowa Gravel ride. Start at the Loess Hills in the West and ended in Dubuque in the East. Took a lot of B roads as well as 90% Gravel. It was fantastic

Hey Dayze you should look at Victory..lots of good bikes for the price range you want

Also I have looked into getting a Yamaha FJ-09..it's a sport touring bike with a triple in it..something light and fun for town riding..then throw the bags on and go for a long ride
