He was terrible and singlehandedly made the numbers a lot worse. But Fuller, Nelson and Ward weren't too bad. I think the main problem with every phase of the defense the last few years is how they were utilized.

The CB play should improve with upgrade at safety, Dont forget we also have a couple safeties who can cover the slot too.

The problem though, is some guys are really good in that coverage.

I'm going to use this as an example, Josh Norman. If he plays the 8-10 yards off zone, he's rated as a top 5 CB, he only gives up something like a 45% completion rate, numbers are high across the board.

If he lines up directly on the receiver, he's basically a below average player. A lot of it is knowing who your players are, some dudes are really good in that off zone look.

I’d like to see Darwin Thompson get a shot returning kicks. He has that stocky build and he’s a running back. I wouldn’t worry about injury or him fumbling.

Does the crowd always root for the offense in training camp? On touchdown highlights, they always seem to cheer.

Or do they just cheer for good plays by anybody, and so they also cheer on interceptions?
