A new weapon for Patrick Mahomes: Former Ravens and Cardinals WR Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is expected to sign a one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, per sources.

Those who understand football and do it for a living think otherwise. He is ranked late first or early 2nd by pretty much every draft analyst. Right in our wheelhouse. He was on a team with Brock Bowers and tons of talent as Georgia spreads it all over if you look at their team stats. He is the most plug and play receiver that is available and is the exact intermediate and precision route runner we need with Brown, Rice and Kelce. Did you watch him at the combine? Also, just for the record, who do you want? [Reply]

If Brown's back after this season, Worthy is layered. I love speed but you can't have both of your speed guys be undersized.
Now maybe Veach intends to do exactly that. But man, if Brown comes in here and clicks and provides the kind of spark opposite of Rice that we want - isn't he a guy you retain if at all possible?
Especially if we have another rookie step up, you will be paying your WR group nothing and could afford Brown if he balls out. [Reply]
The Chiefs may have just signed 1A to Ridley in terms of the best available free agent WR… at a fraction of the cost.
Marquise “Hollywood” Brown was getting interest from all around the league. He lands with the SB Champs on a 1 year, $7 million contract. WRs are the stars the last two nights.
Skyy Moore still needs an opportunity to develop.
We still need to draft and develop another rookie to help us down the road.
Watson is now where he was always intended to be, a guy that can just break a team on occasion.
I wouldn’t even bring Toney into camp unless he’s going to basically live with Pat over the offseason.
I disagree. A Mike Williams type wr would be a hell of a get.
There were games where defenses funneled targets to Watson and he’s just not built to be a chain mover. Others where we relied heavily on Pacheco and gray because we didn’t trust our WRs not named rice. It would be huge to have a true wr checkdown option. Or when mahomes is in a jam a guy who can make some tough catches for you. Sometimes you just need an ole’ reliable.
Skyy doesn’t do any of those things. If we need a possession guy get a big body. If we need catch and run, get a speed or shifty guy. If we need reliability get a guy with football iq. Ideally it shouldn’t be hard to find a guy who can do most of those things at least reasonably well [Reply]
Can you imagine the fucking stress it will put on a defense if you have 4.27 and 4.21 speed in Hollywood and Worthy running deep crossers. Kelce and Rice would tear the center of the field to shreds. [Reply]
