This board falls for people with sources all the time. Then they start hounding them and tweeting at them asking them if they have anything else to "leak". In don't see why people thought he was this super hooked up guy because he got 1 deal right.
I was going to rant about how stupid some of you guys are (seriously, open your eyes - $14m nowadays is nothing, a drop in the bucket - especially on short-term deals), but to be productive instead:
If you're a football nerd in general, I highly recommend you watch All or Nothing with the Cardinals, in which TM is heavily featured. He is going to be a GREAT addition. We don't have anyone like him from a leadership or energy standpoint on defense ... ironically other than public enemy #1. And he generally backs it up with his play. He has unreal instincts.

I can't even tell you how much I love this. Collins would have been great. But you know what I love about this deal? 3 years. He may be an injury risk. But Veach's job is to work like hell to draft his replacement. This team is really smartly putting together a ton of front-loaded contracts that expire in 2020 and 2021.
Veach is building this team to have a competitive supporting cast while Mahomes is cheap while giving the flexibility to afford Mahomes when he gets expensive. It's a brilliant approach.

The problem I have with this theory is that Veach has to prove he'll do that. He had a golden, and I mean fucking golden, opportunity last year to fix the FS position for the long term by taking Jessie Bates and passed to talk a tweener defensive lineman that we now have to hope can hold Houston's jock strap much less be even remotely as productive. All this while significantly overpaying a free agent safety this year.
