I figure there are some motorcycle guys/gals on CP, so I thought we could have a place to talk all things Motorcycles.
Tire Mount and Balance Prices (as of 10/29/16)
Prices based on if you remove the wheels yourself and bring the wheels and new tires with you:
Cycle Gear - $35 per wheel if you buy tires from them. $58 per wheel if you buy tires elsewhere
Rawhide - $65 per wheel (assuming it would be the same at other HD dealers. they book it at 1/2 hr per wheel)
C R Cycle Tires (DeSoto) - $30 per wheel
Cheapest I've found my Michelin Commander II's. Seem like they have good prices on other brands too. http://www.jakewilson.com - Free 3 day shipping on orders over $75 [Reply]

I understand and respect that..I actually like doing the same..I have done a few..but for whatever reason I am just really stuck on a built-in GPS..don't know why but I'm not going to buy a motorcycle without one for my touring bike [Reply]

100 year old technology, air cooled bike, but $$$.
Victory's are engineered way better and are probably more reliable....but I still love the HD, even though it's over priced.
You planning on keeping her stock? or are you doing any mods to her?
Stock for now, even though flat tracker seats look great on this bike, and super bike bars...corbin gunfighter is sweeeeet, but 5 bones!
I'll prolly leave the fairing off while we get aquainted...but it has tunes, so it eventually find its way back...it would be pretty easy to switch from cafe to touring and back..gonna put Emgo slipons after the summer. [Reply]
yep. basically a new bike. they did the 5k service apparently.
of course, who knows if that's true or not :-)
bike looked like it sat for a while. the paint was wiped down at the dealer, but when I got it home i did a thorough cleaning, and it was filthy. but she's clean now.
though...extremely quiet. I need to upgrade to some slip-ons STAT. lol [Reply]
So the Cassoday runso about every month according to their website
May 1
June 5
July 3
August 7
I can do May and July and August..June I won't be able to do unless I change my trip for East Coast to somewhere out west and just roll out after the rally..I can make it work if that is the best date for everyone else [Reply]
I haven't checked those dates Mac, but I know at one time (at least as of a few years ago), Cassoday was the 1st Sunday of every month during riding season. If that helps you or anyone remember.
last time we rolled to Cassoday via Council Bluffs, then back through to Emporia and ate at Pizza Ranch (buffet) and got our bellies full. then S on 98 (or 91...can't remember) right out of Emporia over to 58 which eventually hits 169 if I remember correctly.
rather than just blast down the interstate etc on I-35.
Good idea about Cassoday and a potential CP ride. [Reply]
