Dude couldn't get the umpire to give him that strike below the knees (they weren't strikes) and so rather than work it up a couple of inches to get the call, he just fucking hangs one in the middle.
His numbers are bad - his actual performance has somehow been even worse.
This team has $18 million in free agent lefthanded relievers in the organization and somehow the only lefty that is occasionally worth a damn is Tyler Webb.
I'm just so tired of hearing how Miller has "really come on in the 2nd half..."
No, his stuff has actually backed up. He's still working at 92 on a good day and his slider still has no depth. His K rate has cratered and his walk rate has gone up. The only thing that has saved him (sorta) is a ridiculously low .217 BABIP in the 2nd half. The guy's as dog-ass as he was to start the year and I can tell because I actually watch him throw the baseball.
He isn't good at it.
For all the wailing about Carlos Martinez - Andrew Miller is the guy y'all should truly be climbing on. He's actually bad. [Reply]
Got all the minor leaguers in there today. Lose today and the brewers sweep the Reds, it’s a 1 game lead. We were all set if fucking Miller can keep the ball down. Now we are going to have to maybe sweep the Cubs again after losing 2/3 in Arizona. Burn a Flaherty start instead of starting him game 1 against the Braves. [Reply]

we had better have seen the last pitch thrown by Wacha in a Cardinals uniform. No way he should be on the playoff roster even if he says the shoulder tightness is better by the weekend. If they don’t get their heads out if their ass back in St.Louis, it may be a WC. [Reply]

We're just in it for a t-shirt regardless. No way does this team advance against the Braves or Dodgers. Might be best to be put out of our misery quickly. [Reply]

I agree that the Braves are a better and more consistent team. But.....Flaherty going on 8 days rest and being able to start a game 5 gives us a fighting chance if we catch a few breaks and if someone gets hot that’s not now. Ozuna, Carp, Delong have all went on tears in a series and carried the team. Lot of if’s that’s for sure. Even Flaherty and if’s ain’t going to get us past the Dodgers.
I’ll still take this over bad defense, base running and a Matheny coached team. [Reply]
