Matthew Allen is the top HS/tough sign guy left. He’s a big RH pitcher with premium stuff and frontline upside. That screams Royals.

My preference is for Maurice Hampton, a super toolsy CF.

At #40, the Royals select SS Brady McConnell, University of Florida. Teammates with Jackson Kowar and Brady Singer last year. Hit .332/.385/.576 with 15 HR in 59 games. this year.

Aaaand we significantly reach for a college shortstop in the 2nd round.

They ended up taking Brady McConnell, a SS from UF. Former teammate of Singer and Kowar. Was a first round potential guy enterin his Sr year of Hs but slid.

Probably a CF or 2B as a pro. Not enough power projection for 3B. Interesting pick with tools. College bat with a good approach.

Nope.

Right around his protection from Mlb.com

But as the rounds progress keep in mind that sometimes you take a pick in rnds 2-10 that you can sign for underslot and splash on someone else later.

I saw him listed at 59.

Even at that, not a significant reach. He was a top 2 round talent taken in the second. He’s tools and likely signs for a little discount.

There are some high ceiling HS guys falling. Might be the play with their third round pick.

Went with another college pitcher.

With the 70th pick of the 2019 #MLBDraft, the @Royals select @ASU_Baseball RHP Alec Marsh: https://t.co/OHooNe2EPu pic.twitter.com/tOtJt7ek1N

It’s time to release Martin Gasparini. He’s 22 and still st A ball, where he’s 6-49 (.122) with one extra base hit. .303 OPS (lol) and a ghastly 1bb/26k ratio.

Goodbye.

Goodbye.
The Royals have and some serious problems with guys that were supposed to be prospects just never developing and ending up really old for their levels...talk about aging out.

They'll probably keep him though, they've kept Starling and he's honestly getting old.
