Maybe. Nobody fucking knows. He's a high schooler.
Another toolsy guy who could be bustable. If this guy isn't a contributor in 4 years, something is really, really wrong. I've read that the only thing people ARENT sure about are his hitting and how it will translate.
I just don't have alot of faith in the Royals. They picked Luke Hochevar #1, Aaron Crow #12, Bubba Starling #5, Kyle Zimmer #5, Nick Pratto #14.
Haven't exactly been knocking it out of the park on Top 15 picks. [Reply]

The success rate of MLB picks drops drastically even from #2 to #5, let alone #2 to #15. That’s not the right band to compare.
Saw today that of the 54 #2 picks, only 8 have failed to make the major leagues. The rate of success there is just incredibly high. It falls drastically as you move through the first round. [Reply]
Facebook Royals fans: Call him up for September. He's going to be 19 in a week anyway.
That would be pretty cool to see the sink or swim. If I was a legit prospect, I'd make my agent make a clause in my contract that says the team HAS to force me to the major league's after no more than 1 calendar year after I was drafted. No matter what. Or I'm not signing. I wonder if that would be enforceable or against the current CBA. [Reply]
I'm sure I'll get blasted, but I'll just say I hope he turns out with a better hit tool than our other recent low minor prospects. I'm cautiously excited. [Reply]

Nah. It’s the main concern with him. And the collapse at Wilmington is a big concern. Melendez is heating up a bit, though. Hopefully they all do. [Reply]
