Rumors are coming out that all the problems came from Ubisoft Montreal, who basically took the base game that was shown at e3 2012, and fucked it up bigtime. Cutting corners everywhere they could to keep the budget as low as possible.
I picked up "How 2 Survive" for four bucks over the weekend.....kind of addicting. Diablo-style perspective...but with zombies. Big emphasis on survival (you gotta have water, food, sleep).
Playing it on its hardest setting, and its pretty challenging (and kind of addictive).
Does have Co-op mode, which i havent played yet.....but i like what ive seen so far.
From what I'm gathering from my own experience and from others, it's the textures that's fucking things up.
If I crank the textures settings up from Medium, it goes from choppy while in a car to barely playable the more you scale it up. I can crank up the resolution and AA just fine though.
I have a question about Steam (which I don't use and don't really know anything about).
My son is having problems with his laptop. Since we are going to have to restore the hard drive back to factory, I am backing up his files. He wants to try to save his game files so I am backing up most of those in hopes that he can restore his game progress after he re-installs the programs.
Anyway - one of the folders he wanted backed up is the Steam folder under Program Files (x86). When I went to copy this over to our backup, the folder is 150 GB! I am pretty sure he hasn't bought that many games (he's in college and is broke).
What is making the folder so big? I looked around in it and didn't see anything obvious. Is it anything to worry about or is it just the nature of the beast? [Reply]
